Servings : 6
Preparation time : 20 minutes
Cooking time : 10 minutes
Ingredients
1 large fresh mango
1 small green pepper
1 small red onion
1 file
1 ml (¼ tsp) hot pepper flakes
675 g (1 ½ lb) lean ground pork
45 ml (3 tbsp.) ground allspice (allspice)
5 ml (1 tsp) salt
10 ml (2 tsp.) onion powder
10 ml (2 tsp.) garlic powder
6 hamburger buns
Preparation
Preheat barbecue on high to reach approximately 230°C (450°F). Slice the mango and bell pepper into very thin strips. Cut the onion in half, then thinly slice it. Place in a medium bowl. Squeeze the lime over the bowl and add the chili flakes. Mix and reserve in the refrigerator.
In a large bowl, combine the pork, allspice, salt, onion powder and garlic powder. With your hands, shape 6 patties the same diameter as the hamburger buns. Place the patties on the barbecue grill, close the lid and cook for 4 or 5 minutes on each side, until cooked through. Two minutes before the end of cooking the patties, reheat the buns on the barbecue grill. Watch them to prevent them from burning. Place the patties on the base of the buns and garnish with the mango and pepper salad. Serve.
