François Legault questions the legitimacy of the election of the PQ leader

(Quebec) Premier François Legault questioned the election of PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon during question period in the Blue Room on Tuesday, suggesting that he would not have been elected without the flight of a Parti Québécois flyer by the solidarity candidate, Marie-Eve Rancourt.

Mme Rancourt was dropped from the race in the riding of Camille-Laurin after this larceny which was filmed. Mr. St-Pierre Plamondon won this seat 2,800 votes ahead of CAQ candidate Richard Campeau.

François Legault was stung when Paul St-Pierre Plamondon asked him to recognize that the 2022 election was made on the “basis of false representations”.

The PQ leader was referring to the CAQ’s retreat on the third link, a promise that the party hammered home in the previous election.

PQ MP Pascal Bérubé came to the defense of his leader by saying that he had all the legitimacy to sit in the Blue Room.
