Spring ideas and activities not to be missed.
Creative shopping
Back on April 22, 23, 29 and 30, the Créatif MTL collective’s Spring Market will bring together 180 Quebec artisans at Locoshop Angus to showcase local talent in several spheres: clothing, accessories, works of art, decoration and gourmet products. This last section will feature some twenty exhibitors, including well-known names such as Allo Simone chocolate spreads, Nos Cabanes racy maple syrups, as well as The Foodie Family cooking bars. It will also be possible to discover other delicacies, such as the mouth-watering brioches from Viva Panettone, the original stuffed dates from La Dattery, or the surprising Dunord ready-to-cook dishes, including a Gaspé ramen and a boreal daal. Our taste buds will not be bored for a second!
Extended Family Recipes
Who doesn’t like Hélène Laurendeau? This knowledgeable nutritionist, outstanding communicator, seasoned traveler and self-confessed foodie has been omnipresent in the media for more than 35 years. But this is the first time that we can savor a part of our daily food! This is indeed what his new book offers My kitchen, which brings together 80 recipes selected from his own creations, those of his relatives and chef or producer friends. This merry mix of genres results in family classics like Grandma’s lemon pie, nutritious recipes like crisp lettuce, creamy blue cheese sauce, waste-busting tricks like pancakes stuffed with savory and sweet leftovers, and others to make life easier, like his food processor pie dough. An accessible, colorful book, full of anecdotes and ultra-friendly, just like its creator.
Fridge and meal management 2.0
Artificial intelligence offers many possibilities, including those to help us manage the contents of our fridge and to facilitate the preparation of our meals. Two new applications simmered in Quebec just fill our gaps of inspiration and allow us to save money. Chef and host Ricardo Larrivee has just launched My Ricardo+, which allows you to get recommendations, group your favorite recipes, plan your meals and draw up your grocery list. And for its part, ChefTouski, created by two partners from Val-d’Or, is a bilingual conversational virtual chef capable of adapting to all its users (allergies, dietary habits, children, etc.), as well as Instantly create personalized recipes from what’s left in the fridge.
