The first chapter of a new era. After the great upheaval within the French women’s team and the dismissal of Corinne Deacon, Hervé Renard, appointed coach of Les Bleues until August 2024, is playing his first match on the tricolor bench against Colombia, Friday, April 7. On this occasion, the French coach reminded Wendie Renard (142 selections), leader of the sling against Corinne Deacon, and Eugénie Le Sommer (175 selections and 86 goals), top scorer in the history of the Blue, banned by the former coach.
This French team starts its adventure with a real test against one of the best nations in South America. The Colombians, qualified for the 2023 World Cup, will give a first perspective of the group led by Hervé Renard less than four months before the World Cup (organized by New Zealand and Australia, from July 20 to August 20, 2023).
