An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by at least one projectile fired from a vehicle by a suspect who fled on Sunday, in the borough of Anjou.
The officers of the Montreal Police Department were called to go to avenue Hérisson, near the intersection with avenue Thérèse-Casgrain, Sunday evening, around 10 p.m.
They found the young man there on the ground, on the sidewalk, unconscious and injured in the upper body. He was quickly transported to a hospital and there are fears for his life.
According to the first information available, he was hit by at least one projectile fired from a vehicle in which a suspect fled. Witnesses of the scene will be met by the investigators, indicated a spokesperson for the Police Department of the City of Montreal, Caroline Chèvrefils.
A perimeter was erected around the scene for the arrival of investigators and forensic identification technicians. The canine unit was also called to the scene to help search for clues.
