The Montreal region is once again covered in snowflakes this winter, when up to 15 centimeters of snow are expected during the day.
A weather alert is in effect for the island of Montreal, Laval, Longueuil-Varennes and Châteauguay-La Prairie. According to the Environment Canada website, the precipitation should stop in the evening. Northeast winds can reach up to 30 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 50.
On the side of the Ministry of Transport, it is indicated that visibility on the road is reduced due to the snow-covered roadway in certain sectors of the island. This is particularly the case in Vaudreuil-Dorion and Dorval.
At Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau airport, many flights were delayed or canceled altogether in the morning. Most affected flights are to or from the United States. The scheduled schedule of scheduled take-offs and arrivals, however, remains more stable in the afternoon and evening.
Southern Ontario is also affected by snowfall. Accumulation of up to 30 centimeters is expected in some areas.
