(Planica) The Polish Piotr Zyla became ski jumping world champion on the normal hill on Saturday evening in Planica (Slovenia), his second individual world title after that of 2021, in Oberstdorf (Germany), still on the normal hill .
Thirteenth after the first jump, Zyla had the best performance of the second run and of the evening, landing 105.0 meters. With 261.8 points, he beat Germany’s Andreas Wellinger (259.2) and Karl Geiger (257.7).
The ski jumping competition on the large hill of the Worlds-2023 is scheduled next Friday, before the team competition, still on the large hill, the next day.
