(Quebec) A 27-year-old man suspected of having committed criminal offenses, particularly of a sexual nature, in order to attract minors was arrested Thursday in Quebec.
An alleged victim would have provided a report last Tuesday, according to what relates the Police Department of the City of Quebec (SPVQ), which quickly led the investigators to 18 potential minor victims to meet.
The SPVQ claims that its investigators from the Sexual Exploitation of Minors (ESM) Unit mobilized and worked with colleagues from other units to secure and protect the victims.
According to the police, the suspect had professional ties with at least one educational institution in the Quebec region as well as with various soccer sports associations.
The man was taken into custody; he is scheduled to appear in court this Friday in connection with offenses of luring, possession of child pornography and voyeurism.
The Service de police de la Ville de Québec reminds us that it is important that any presumed victim file a complaint by contacting the police, whether the offenses were committed recently or not.
