One week to the day before the opening of the Agricultural Show, Saturday February 18, France 3 attended, in the Gers, the final preparations around Mimosa, a Mirandaise cow.

It is at the same time elegant, docile but also rustic. This is Mimosa, an iconic 800 kilo Milanese cow. It is she who will go to Paris to represent this breed of cattle with a very small number. “She is a little more formed, a little softer than the others, we get attached to her easily (…), she is a perfect cow”, assures Thomas Gissot, breeder. Thomas and Daniel work as a family for the passion of this species which was threatened with extinction for a long time.

Breeders train Mimosa in performance

The prospect of a little visibility at the Salon de l’Agriculture is not a luxury. “She is a cow that can represent a competition easily”, thinks Daniel Danflous, breeder. It is not Hervé Danflous, breeder also, who will say the opposite. “She is a beautiful Mirandaise because she is very typical, her head is quite short, wide and she has glasses around her eyes”, he describes. Before the start, the breeders train Mimosa in performance.
