(London) Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, rapper Stormzy and many celebrities paid tribute Thursday in London to Vivienne Westwood, before Fashion Week dedicated this week in the British capital to the great lady of fashion who died in December.
Among the celebrities gathered at Southwark Cathedral were also Anna Wintour, famous editor of the American edition of vogue and artistic director of Condé Nast, the actress Helena Bonham Carter, who particularly liked the punk style of Vivienne Westwood, or the artist Tracey Emin, longtime friend of “Dame Vivienne”.
Many wore tartan patterns and clothes with daring cuts, in homage to the one who for fifty years had disturbed the codes with passion, and made fashion an irreverent and very political platform.
Vivienne Westwood died on December 29 in London, aged 81.
Also in the audience, Edward Enninful, editor of the British edition of voguethe actress Vanessa Redgrave, the singer Bob Geldof or the daughter of Kate Moss, Lila Grace, a model like her mother.
The fashion week which opens Friday in London for five days is dedicated to “the empress of punk” who “changed the world of fashion” according to the British Fashion Council which organizes the parades.
