Quebec Peewee Tournament | The Ukrainian team wins its second match and continues its adventure

(Québec) The Ukrainian team will be able to continue its adventure at the Tournoi international pee-wee de Québec, since it signed a 2-0 victory in its second game, Monday night, against the Wolves of Romania.

Maksym Kukharenko gave his team the lead on a power play in the first period, then Ivan Bilozerov hit the target in the third period. Matvii Kulish blocked all shots aimed at him.

The Videotron Center was not as full as Saturday, when a full house was announced for the first part of the young Ukrainians, but the lower bowl was still about half full Monday evening.

One of the sections of the amphitheater was notably filled with supporters of the Romanian team, who did not go unnoticed with their chants and cowbells.

It is in Romania that the Ukrainians held their training camp before arriving in Quebec, about two weeks ago. Romania was chosen because that is where Ukraine coach Evgheniy Pysarenko lives.

The Ukrainian formation will resume the necklace Friday morning at the Videotron Center, when it will face an American team. She still needs to win three games to earn a place in the AA class final on Sunday. A defeat, however, would immediately end his run.

While waiting for their next game, the young Ukrainian players, who are 11 and 12 years old, will travel to Montreal on Tuesday to watch the duel between the Canadiens and the Chicago Blackhawks at the Bell Centre.
