(Bromont) A young man who was snowboarding lost his life after an accident on Saturday evening at the Bromont mountain experience ski resort in the Eastern Townships, Bromont police confirmed to The Voice of the East.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. The snowboarder had left the scene in an ambulance.
“It is with deep sadness that we inform you that a tragic accident involving a young man took place on the mountain tonight,” officials said on the Facebook page Bromont, montagne d’experiences.
The message specified that an internal investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances of the accident, but that the Bromont police will also investigate.
“This tragic event is deeply moving. Psychological support is offered to the teams directly involved in the intervention. All our thoughts go out to the young man’s family and loved ones.
