Tasty news not to be missed.

Tropical smoothie

Head south this week, at least by the taste buds, with Evive’s new Azur smoothie flavor. Recognizable by their practical format of frozen cubes, Evive smoothies are vegan, without added sugar or gluten, and bring together fruits, vegetables and superfoods, which saves us the step of the blender. Thanks to the Azur flavor, they now also take us on a journey to the tropical destination of our choice. This beautiful turquoise blue smoothie is made with mango, kiwi, pear, banana, lemon, zucchini and mushroom. In addition to its exotic taste, it contains a high source of fiber and six vitamin sources. Something to brighten up our winter days.

Traveling Poutines

Hear, hear! Poutine Week — or Poutine Week — is back for an 11the gourmet edition. Until February 14, dozens of establishments across Quebec are celebrating this specialty by interpreting it in multiple ways. For example, in Victoriaville, where the best cheese curds of the year 2022 are located (Caseus selection), Fromagerie Victoria has concocted the Retro poutine, which incorporates smoked meat, coleslaw and a breaded pickle. It is also possible to travel to the Caribbean with the Piklìz poutine, in which we find pulled pork and Creole spices, or through Acadia with the Homard-tine de Labarake, which contains lobster, northern shrimp and bisque. You can even combine the pleasures at the Bijou Resto Bar (an airport restaurant!) with a trio of duck mini-poutines with foie gras and Mexican sauce. We are already salivating!

New outdoor festival

Florida hosts lively festivals and a marathon in February? Well, we have nothing to envy in Quebec, as evidenced by the arrival, in addition to the traditional Carnaval de Québec and Montréal en lumière, of new unifying outdoor festivities. From February 3 to 5, meet at Sir-George-Étienne-Cartier Square (Saint-Henri district) to take part in Montréal Boréal — Le Jam du Nord. Free and accessible to all, the event offers an artistic program, winter installations, as well as several gourmet specialties from local merchants: cocktails and hot drinks from Mano Cornuto, microbrewed beers from Les Brasseurs de Montréal, generously stuffed sweet crepes concocted by Spanels, etc. A tempting invitation, isn’t it?
