A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being assaulted after school on Monday evening at Calixa-Lavallée high school in the Montreal-North borough.
Around 4:40 p.m., the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) was called to intervene in this school following a call received via 911.
When they arrived at the scene, the police located the victim, a young man of 16 years, seriously injured in the upper body. Still conscious, his condition appears to have deteriorated rapidly to the point where he was considered critical when he was taken to hospital.
The SPVM was, Monday evening, still awaiting a status report from the medical authorities.
According to the first information available, the teenager was injured following a conflict that broke out after school and then degenerated outside of school.
The suspects allegedly used a blunt object to commit their crime, after which they fled the scene.
No arrests have yet been made. A security perimeter was established at the scene and SPVM investigators were on their way to meet witnesses.
