A man in his thirties has been arrested for an attempted murder that occurred in the context of domestic violence.
Shortly before 6 a.m. Monday morning, the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) arrested a man in his thirties for the attempted murder of a woman, also in her thirties.
The incident reportedly occurred in a residence in the L’Ancienne-Lorette sector, in the area of rue des Braves.
According to our first information, the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim in addition to threatening her with death.
The woman managed to flee and seek refuge in a safe place so that someone could contact emergency services.
The victim suffered multiple injuries before being transported to a hospital. His life would not be threatened.
SPVQ investigators went to the scene to shed light on the circumstances of the crime.
The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to appear in court shortly.
