(Lac-Beauport) The yellow jersey will only have passed, Sunday, at the Freestyle Skiing World Cup in Lac-Beauport.
Sherbrooke’s Marion Thénault missed her landing in qualifying for the jumps event to finish 16the rank, not being able to qualify among the 12 best jumpers of the morning.
Silver medalist at Ruka in December and winner on the same track the day before, Thénault had risen to the top of the Crystal Globe rankings, ahead of Australian Danielle Scott, first in qualifying on Sunday.
Thénault, dejected, explained that she had brought her skis back too quickly on landing, which caused her to touch the runway, sounding the death knell for her working day.
Only one Canadian has managed to qualify among the top 12 skiers, Flavie Aumond, in 10e square. Charlie Fontaine (14e), Rosalie Gagnon (17e) and Alexandra Montminy (18e) also started the competition.
Later in the morning, the men will take to the slopes of Le Relais ski center to try to reach the final.
Pierre-Olivier Côté, Alexandre Duchaine, Miha Fontaine, Alec Haineault, Lewis Irving, Émile Nadeau, Anthony Noël, Nicolas Martineau and Victor Primeau are the Canadians in the running.
On Saturday, Duchaine, Irving, Nadeau and Primeau had qualified for the final, but only Irving, who finished fifth, reached the super final.
