A small explosion in front of the Parliament of Quebec triggers a police operation.
The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) was called to intervene around 3:50 p.m. in front of Parliament when a citizen heard a small explosion near the Tourny fountain.
The authorities immediately launched a police operation requesting the presence of the pyrotechnicians and the canine squad.
Although the sound of the explosion was similar to that of a firecracker, the SPVQ left nothing to chance, erecting a security perimeter in the area.
Avenue Honoré-Mercier was also closed to traffic in order to carry out checks.
A person of interest was also interviewed at the scene.
