Two men were transported to a hospital after being chased by car and assaulted Sunday evening in LaSalle, during a meeting made following an online transaction.
The event, a robbery followed by an armed assault and a hit and run, took place Sunday evening around 11:50 p.m., at the corner of Angrignon and Newman boulevards, according to Mariane Allaire Morin, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).
An online transaction via social networks would be at the origin of the meeting.
The victims, five young men under the age of 20, wanted to flee the scene in their vehicle, but were pursued by at least one suspicious vehicle.
The victims’ vehicle would have deviated from its trajectory before hitting a tree, the driver having probably lost control. The vehicle was heavily damaged and the fallen tree blocked traffic.
The suspect then allegedly assaulted two of the five victims, aged 16 and 19, who were then transported to a hospital, where there was no fear for their lives.
The scene was protected and SPVM investigators went on site to determine the causes and circumstances of the event.
