Hairdressers don’t have it easy in Quebec. Most of the time, these hair professionals have to perform hair miracles while living the precariousness of their jobs. According to the portrait of the profession produced this year by Personal Care Quebec, 61% of hairdressers and hairdressers in Quebec are self-employed. In the event of health problems, the majority of them are not entitled to employment insurance benefits or sick leave, and they risk seeing their clients go elsewhere.
