[PHOTOS] Montreal: suspicious fire of an abandoned vehicle in Saint-Michel

A vehicle caught fire when it was abandoned in the opposite direction in the middle of the street during the night from Monday to Tuesday in the Saint-Michel district, in Montreal.

Montreal police were alerted around 1 a.m. to a burning vehicle on the 6e Avenue, near Bel-Air Street.

Firefighters quickly brought the flames under control, but the damage to the vehicle was extensive.

No one was injured, since there was no occupant inside at the time of the fire, the police having not found a driver on the spot.

The investigation was transferred to the arson section of the Montreal police department to elucidate the mystery surrounding this suspicious fire of a moving vehicle.

The vehicle was towed to be appraised, said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant, adding that no incendiary object was found in the vehicle.
