Weather cocktail: rainy and windy throughout Quebec

Quebecers will have to face a whole weather cocktail on Wednesday with the passage of a low pressure system which will bring in its wake a lot of rain accompanied by strong winds which will sweep the entire province.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Greater Montreal and a rain and snow warning for several areas in the center and northeast of the province.

In Montreal, the rain will start at midday with forecasts of 10 to 20 millimeters of precipitation with strong southerly winds of up to 80 km/h in the evening, while mild temperatures of 8 degrees are expected.

Snow mixed with rain is expected in the western sectors of the province, such as Outaouais and Abitibi where a risk of freezing rain is not to be excluded in the morning, according to the federal agency.

Bad weather will also be present in the central sectors of the province where the weather cocktail could leave 30 to 50 millimeters of rain with gusts of 60 km/h at midday.

“These winds could reach 80 kilometers per hour on Wednesday evening”, indicated the federal agency which specifies that the rain will gradually stop in the evening while the windy conditions will persist Thursday.

For the sectors a little further north, they could receive a white carpet of 10 to 20 centimeters of snow, while certain sectors of eastern Quebec will be swept by strong winds that can reach 100 km / h until Thursday morning .
