Three people were arrested following major searches in Bas-Saint-Laurent during a major operation by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) aimed at dismantling a drug trafficking network on Thursday.
The operation resulting from the CENTAURE strategy made it possible to carry out searches in three residences located respectively in Notre-Dame-du-Portage, Rivière-du-Loup and Trois-Pistoles.
Accompanied by several patrol officers and a dog handler, investigators from the SQ Major Crimes Investigation Division then seized two long guns, a prohibited weapon, a compressed air handgun and ammunition of different calibers .
During the searches, they also discovered 30 g of cocaine, about thirty methamphetamine tablets, synthetic drug tablets, hundreds of prescription drug tablets and $4,800 in cash.
Finally, they seized two vehicles as offence-related property and various objects used in drug trafficking.
The three people arrested during the intervention are two men aged 30 and 22, as well as a 57-year-old woman. They were met by the police to shed light on this case.
