According to his representative Justine Hunt, he died in Texas, leaving 4 children to mourn. He explained to our American colleagues: “Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrific time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans dearly. He will be truly missed.“
Jason Frank originally auditioned for the role of Jason, the Red Ranger. The series started without him, and he then landed the role of Tommy, the Green Ranger, at age 19 later in season 1. He originally played a villain, and was not to have a recurring role in the series. His persona later became the White Ranger, after his powers began to deteriorate, and he was chosen as the group’s new leader. In total, Frank played the lead role for 3 seasons, totaling 123 episodes.

He had also participated in two of the films of the franchise, brought to the cinema – power rangers the movie (1995), Power Rangers Turbo the movie (1997). Very popular, he reprized his role as Tommy in several adaptations: “Power Rangers”, “Wild Force”, “Turbo”, “Zeo”, “Dino Thunder”, “Megaforce”, “Ninja Steel”, “HyperForce”.
He was also a professional American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter between 2008 and 2010 and practiced Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

As soon as his death was announced, tributes were already falling, notably that of Walter Jones, who played the black ranger in Power Rangers and who declared to TMZ: “He was an inspiration to so many people. His presence will be greatly missed. It’s so sad to lose another member of our Ranger family.” And to add: “Jason was one of the biggest pranksters on the show. He had a wild sense of humor. We had our share of ups and downs, but I remained consistent to be an ear if he needed it. My prayers go out to hishis family and everything he will miss.“
