[Critique] «Schwanengesang», Franz Schubert | The duty

On hearing this swan song miraculous, it is impossible not to think of the before and the after… The before was this beautiful miller history, which marked the debut of Andrè Schuen at DG. The aftermath is telling ourselves that we are going to have a winter travel… To grasp what is happening on this record, to understand who Andrè Schuen is (in case you missed The beautiful miller), we recommend that you go directly to track 4, the most famous melody: Standchen (Serenade). The control of the breath and the dosage of the voice for the benefit of expression and emotion are almost supernatural. We will then go to the diptych of tracks 11 and 12, Die Stadt and Am Meer, the voltage-resolution at its zenith. In Am Meer, Schuen finds the stunning diaphanous sounds of his first CD. And this diptych is the gateway to Doppelgänger and Die Taubenpost, the abyss. At this point and at this level, words fail. This CD is released on November 18. There is not a moment to lose to dive into its entrails.
