(Calgary) Flight cancellations continued on Monday after WestJet’s computer system outage began on Saturday and caused widespread disruption.

The Calgary-based airline says another 31 flights are canceled Monday due to the impact of the outage combined with winter weather affecting Alberta and parts of Western Canada.

Over the weekend, the outage led to the cancellation of more than 200 WestJet, Swoop and Sunwing flights, and many travelers are still stranded and seeking compensation.

WestJet customer Gemini Clarke says she’s stuck in Calgary, exhausted, and wants answers, but doesn’t know if she’ll be placed on a flight back to Kelowna on Monday.

Mme Clarke adds that she hasn’t been able to receive a response, she hasn’t had information by phone or email, as the lines remain jammed with customers in similar circumstances.

WestJet says 10 additional flights have been scheduled for Monday for passengers still waiting to get to their destination.
