The monetization of RTT days is authorized by a law which has just been clarified

It is a way of gaining purchasing power in times of high inflation. To earn more, one may be tempted, not to work more, but to give up RTT days. The possibility was opened up by a law of August 16, but the Ministry of Labor has just provided details.

First confirmation: there will be no redemption of RTT for employees on “day package”, a situation which concerns a good proportion of executives. Unable to conclude company agreements that would allow executives on day passes to enter the system. Also not affected are compensatory rest days in lieu of overtime and rest days resulting from a balance of all accounts.

TAll private sector employees, including the agricultural professions, who have acquired RTT days pursuant to an agreement on the reduction of working hours, are concerned in all private sector companies, regardless of their size. For the days that can be converted into money, these are all those acquired since January 1, 2022, and the system will run until December 31, 2025. Note that part-time employees who alternate periods work and periods of suspension of their employment contract, who are therefore on intermission, can also benefit from the monetization of RTT days.

Please note: your boss may refuse your choice to monetize all or part of your RTT days. Il may oppose it and he will not need to justify himself to do so. He may agree to monetize part of your RTT days and refuse for the rest. Or refuse all.

The Ministry of Labor recalls that there is no particular formality for making the request, but an email is still preferable. Finally, know that you can ask to monetize all the days that you have acquired, There is no limit.

It should be noted that the days redeemed are not affected by employee contributions, in the same way as overtime and that they also give rise to the same tax exemption.
