Laval police said on Monday they found the body of a one-month-old baby missing in the Mille Îles River since Friday evening.
The little boy had been missing since a vehicle plunged with his mother and four-year-old sister into the river.
The Laval Police Department said the 40-year-old mother was hospitalized and was unable to speak to investigators. Police said they are unaware of the circumstances surrounding the crash at this time.
The four-year-old girl was rescued and released from hospital on Friday evening.
Police confirmed the discovery of the body after beginning a third day of searches.
Laval police spent the weekend searching for the missing child, with firefighters, Sûreté du Québec divers and a helicopter joining local teams.
