The body of Justine Vayrac was discovered at the beginning of the afternoon, Thursday October 27, in a wooded area of Beynat (Corrèze), near the home of the main suspect. He was the one who told investigators where the body was. “The respondent admitted to having killed the victim when they were both at his home, and they had just had consensual sex”, commented Baptiste Porcher, the public prosecutor of Limoges (Haute-Vienne). The latter specified “that he had punched him, which would have caused his death”.
According to initial findings, several blows were recorded on the face, including at least one with a blunt weapon. The young woman had not given any sign of life since Sunday, and an evening in a nightclub in Brive-la-Gaillarde (Corrèze). It is here that she would have met an acquaintance, the main suspect in the case. Lucas L., 21, is a farm worker and lives in the town of Beynat. Placed in police custody, he confessed on the evening of Wednesday 26 to having killed Justine Vayrac, 20, and to burying her body. Lucas L. was indicted for rape, forcible confinement and murder. He faces life imprisonment.
