A rain of goals. Led by Adam Ounas, Jonathan David and Rémy Cabella, all twirling, Lille offered a breathtaking spectacle to a Pierre-Mauroy stadium full as an egg in addition to a victory against Monaco (4-3), Sunday October 23, in League 1.
The first fuse was lit by Lille defender Alexsandro, author of a powerful header following a marvelous free kick from Adam Ounas (1-0, 22nd). In the aftermath, and while Lille mastered their game and the debates, Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier let the ball slip through his hands after a free kick from Caio Henrique. A dumpling that allowed Monaco to come back unexpectedly (1-1, 35th). Then the meeting got carried away. In the aftermath, Rémy Cabella put Lille back in place after a superb job by the wisp Jonathan David (2-1, 38th), before Axel Disasi allowed Monaco to believe in it again, from a corner, just before the half-time (2-2, 44th).
Upon returning from the locker room, the spectators of Pierre-Mauroy were treated to the grand finale. As often since the start of the season, Lille sinned defensively: Tiago Djalo got his hands dirty and offered a ready-made goal to Wissam Ben Yedder, who did not hesitate (2-3, 53rd). It is the fifth goal scored by the French international in ten games played in L1 this season.
But the evening artificers had not finished making the gunpowder speak. After the third Monegasque goal, Rémy Cabella did not leave his teammates in doubt. Taking advantage of a subtle deviation from Jonathan David, the former Montpellier player broke through on the left side before crucifying Nübel (3-3, 62nd). The show ended ten minutes later when Jonathan Bamba crossed a powerful shot from the left that Nübel could only watch slip into the back of his net (4-3, 71st). After this explosion of goals, the Lille go sixth, ahead of their opponents of the day, seventh.
