Since this summer, many Internet users have denounced the salary increases of Ursula von der Leyenpresident of the European Commission. Among them find Florian Philippot who declares: “8.5% increase expected for the salaries of European Union officials this year, everything is going well for them!”. What is it really ? Defined by the European Council, the salary scales are available in the official journal of the European Union. According to the table, the salary of Ursula Von der Leyen correspond to 138% that of a European civil servant placed in the highest grade of the grid, ie 29,906 euros gross.

However, if the president of the European Commission has been augmented this year, it does not correspond to the 8.5% advertised by Internet users. In June, an exceptional increase of 2.4% had been announced for all officials of the European Union, including for Ursula von der Leyento compensate for inflation.
