(Laval) The driver suspected of having caused the death of another motorist, Sunday, in Laval, and of hit and run, was arrested and appears Monday at the courthouse.

The 25-year-old man faces charges of hit and run causing death and hit and run causing bodily harm, said Laval Police Department (SPL) spokesperson Erika Landry.
He was driving a white Range Rover on Sunday around 4:10 p.m. when a collision occurred with the driver of a black Honda Civic on Boulevard de Lisboa, at the intersection of Rue Jaffa, in Fabreville.
The driver of the Honda Civic, a 75-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two people in the Range Rover reportedly fled on foot. The passenger was first located by the police. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He is a 24-year-old man, who was met by the police before being released.
The driver of the Range Rover, a 25-year-old man from Laval, finally called 911 to denounce himself, when he was not far from the scene, explained Mme Landry. He was also taken to hospital, where blood samples were taken.
Driving under the influence of alcohol is part of the SPL’s hypotheses, but has not been confirmed.
