After two years of absence due to a health crisis, the Techno Parade, a festive and protesting showcase for electronic music, returns on Saturday September 24, 2022 in Paris. The latest edition, in 2019 – dedicated to Steve Maia Caniço, who drowned during the Music Festival in Nantes after a controversial police intervention – brought together 300,000 people from the Louvre to Place d’Italie.
What is the route?
From Denfert-Rochereau to Nation, via Bastille, the route extends over 6.5 km, one of the longest since its creation in 1998. “One of the three routes with 2 km more that we proposed, was quickly accepted by the Prefecture of Police. We are really happy to be back in the center of the capital“, indicates Tommy Vaudecrane, president of Technopol.
Around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Techno Patade will leave Place Denfert-Rochereau in a deluge of decibels. Head to Boulevard Saint-Michel, Boulevard Saint-Germain, Pont de Sully, Boulevard Henri IV, Place de la Bastille, Rue de Lyon, with an expected arrival at Place de la Nation at the end of the afternoon.
Where is the after-party taking place?
The party will continue with the official after-party at the Périphérique, one of the places in the Parc de la Villette (located as its name indicates under the ring road) dedicated to creation and urban practices, which can accommodate up to 3 000 people.
What is the watchword for 2022?
For this reunion with the “teufeurs” and the Parisian asphalt, the 24th Techno Parade launches an appeal “to party together“, for better recognition of electronic music.

This association for the defense of electronic cultures created the Techno Parade with the support of the former Minister of Culture Jack Lang, on the model of the Love Parade in Berlin.

What are the main floats and DJs?
Eleven floats equipped with sound systems will entertain the crowd all along the route. In solidarity with Ukraine, the Ukrainian DJ Xenia is guest of honor and will be on the decks of the Technopol float.
The float of the Institut du Monde Arabe, decked out in the colors of Habibi, the revolutions of love, his next big exhibition on LGBTQIA+ identities, will bring together DJs like Hadj Sameer, Zaatar, Sara Dziri and kasbaH.
On the other tanks, The Avener, Feder and Bakermat or Hallsax, among a hundred DJs, will take turns on the turntables to make the different techno currents resonate (House, Trance, Drum’n’Bass…).

The Techno Parade is once again an opportunity to “turn up the sound“to defend electronic music.”We always ask for full recognition of electro culture. Techno festival organizers still face challenges“, regrets Tommy Vaudecrane.
“Electro festivals must be able to establish themselves in the long term, without certain prefectures adding additional constraints… We therefore demand dedicated and permanent places, far from homes to protect them from noise emissions.“, specifies the president of Technopol.
