Opposite destinies for the two headliners of Ligue 2. At Matmut Atlantique, the Girondins de Bordeaux have regained a taste for success by logically defeating Dijon (2-1). Meanwhile, AS Saint-Etienne – winner of Bordeaux last Saturday – lost at Roudourou, against En Avant Guingamp (1-2).
A week after their defeat in the Cauldron, the second for them this season, the Bordelais have therefore raised their heads. Quickly in front of the score after a penalty from Josh Maja (8th), the Girondins mastered the debates and multiplied the opportunities in the first period. In this clash of vineyards, however, the people of Bordeaux had the bad idea of extending the harvest.

At the same time, AS Saint-Etienne experienced a much less radiant afternoon under the Breton sun. Jostled by exciting Guingampais, the Stéphanois cracked on goals from Courtet and Livolant. Lobry’s late score reduction didn’t change that. After four games without defeat, the Greens stall again and do not go beyond 15th place, while waiting for the rest of the day in Ligue 2. For their part, the Guingampais climb on the podium and confirm their good start to the season.
