Theater: “the first name” at the Salinières de Bordeaux
“The first name” is back at the Salinières theater in Bordeaux! This cult comedy by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patelière was first a triumph at the Edouard VII Theater in 2010. The play received five Molières nominations in 2011. Brought to the screen in 2012, the film was a huge success and was nominated five times for the Césars, winning those for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Supporting Role. One should never reveal to one’s loved ones the first name of one’s unborn child, before he is here. Not out of superstition, but because it always and invariably ensues a fierce discussion that turns to anger, even chaos, because resentments, little poorly digested humiliations and big revelations come to the surface! “The first name” is therefore back at Les Salinières with Romain Losi, Audrey Arestat, Franck Bevilacqua, Jean Mourier and Nora Fred. Maxwell Farrington and Nadine Khouri in concert in Bordeaux
On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the Bordeaux label Talitres founded by Sean Bouchard, will blow out its candles in the courtyard of the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Bordeaux culminating in a double concert on Saturday 17 September on the occasion of European Heritage Days.
On the program: Saturday September 17 meeting with the artists, visit of the Nanda Vigo exhibition with the musicians of the label followed by a debate, and in the evening, two concerts on the forecourt of the courtyard of the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Bordeaux, with Maxwell Farrington & Le Super Homard, a Franco-Australian band. Their first album “Once” released in April 2021 had a very good critical reception (broadcasts on France Inter, album of the month in Rock & Folk). And in the second part of the evening, the singer Nadine Khouri, next signature of the Talitres label, an Anglo-Lebanese musician with a magical voice, produced by John Parish. Price: 15 euros, concert organized in partnership with the Rocher de Palmer de Cenon.
Concert for the benefit of the Gironde firefighters
Grand concert for the benefit of the Gironde firefighters, Friday September 16 at the Bordeaux Auditorium at 8:30 p.m.! The Prefecture of Gironde, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, the Department of Gironde, the City of Bordeaux and the Opéra National de Bordeaux have wished thank and salute the hard work of the Gironde firefighters by dedicating a special concert to them, in partnership with Sud-Ouest Solidarité. On the program for this evening, all of the proceeds from which will be donated to the Gironde Departmental Union of Firefighters: airs and choruses by Giuseppe Verdi, Georges Bizet, Camille Saint-Saëns and Gioacchino Rossini. With the exceptional participation of Aude Extremo (mezzo-soprano) and Florian Sempey (baritone). 400 places will also be reserved for women and men firefighters, gendarmes, police officers, the Association for the Defense of Forests against Fire.
