How can we keep a language if we don’t know how to write and speak it correctly?
I was born in Quebec, I studied in Quebec and I have lived outside Quebec since 1969. I learned French at school when there was a lot of emphasis on how to write French, which learned to love and respect this language.
If the Ministry of Education doesn’t make a special effort, how can students be motivated to love and want to keep the language?
Let’s stop looking for why there are fewer and fewer Quebecers interested in keeping French. I watch Quebec television and I realize that a lot of words are cut off and a lot of Anglicisms are used. Is this what we want to keep?
It is when laws are imposed that people try to break them. Politicians, show that you are sincere, open your eyes and apply the real solutions.
