[PHOTOS] Three injured in three shootings in less than 2 hours in Montreal

Renewed armed violence in Montreal, while three shootings left at least three injured in the space of 2 hours in the night from Monday to Tuesday.

The last shooting dates back to 2 a.m. when police officers were tampered with by shots fired on the public road at the intersection of rue Saint-Denis and boulevard de Maisonneuve.

The police dispatched to the scene located two victims, a 32-year-old man injured in the upper body, and another 26-year-old injured in the lower body.

Both victims were transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Two suspects, aged 47 and 34, were arrested by the police, said Gabriella Youakim of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal.

The suspects are known to police circles, but their relationship with the victims has not been determined, according to the first elements of the investigation.

Investigators were to travel to the site where a scene was erected to try to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this shooting.

Previously, around midnight, a 38-year-old man was the subject of an attempted murder when he was shot in Émilie-Gamelin park, in Ville-Marie.

The 38-year-old man is in hospital in critical but stable condition, according to the latest information provided by the SPVM.

Vehicle riddled with bullets

About 30 minutes later, more shots rang out, this time near 31st Avenue and rue Beaubien Est, in the borough of Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie.

A parked vehicle was riddled with bullets, while several shell casings were found on the ground, but no casualties were located, police said.

A security perimeter has been erected to protect the scene for investigators who should move during the day.

As a reminder, another vehicle was targeted by gunfire around 8 p.m. in the Anjou sector, while no victim was located.
