(Quebec) Eric Duhaime promises to hold a youth mental health summit within the first 100 days of a Conservative government. Since the start of the election campaign, the leader of the Conservative Party of Quebec has frequently mentioned the negative impact that health restrictions have had on children during the first two years of the pandemic.

If he were elected Prime Minister, he would call together all the players concerned and experts in the field to take stock of the situation and identify the measures that can be put in place in the short, medium and long term.
Éric Duhaime made this announcement early Saturday morning in Quebec City on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day. He had just met with representatives of the Quebec Association for the Prevention of Suicide.
“We talk a lot about the damage of what happened in Quebec, but we talk very little about mental health,” he said the day before in a speech to his supporters. Since the start of the election campaign, he has repeatedly affirmed that the confinement imposed during the pandemic will have its effect on a generation.
The Conservative leader is campaigning in Quebec where he will participate in the opening of Denise Peters’ campaign office in the riding of Jean-Lesage. She is currently represented by the outgoing member of Québec solidaire, Sol Zanetti, but it would be the Coalition avenir Québec that would have more chances of delighting her, according to the electoral projection site Qc125.
Éric Duhaime will then spend the afternoon going door to door in the county of Chauveau where he is trying to dislodge the caquiste Sylvain Lévesque.
