Before their announced return to Costières for Nîmes / Bastia, the Gladiators write to the Gard prefecture

They have planned to finally return to the stadium this Saturday to support Nîmes Olympique. The Gladiators, the main group of Crocos supporters, sent a letter to the Gard prefecture, announcing fears of provocations which could degenerate the situation, and degrade their image.

The minutes preceding the match between Nîmes and Bastia, on behalf of the eighth day of Ligue 2 this weekend, will be watched like milk on the fire. Nîmes Olympique receives the Corsican club this Saturday at 7 p.m. In conflict with the president of Nîmes Olympique, Rani Assaf, the groups of supporters announce that they have written to the prefect of Gard before returning to the stands. The Gladiators evoke in this mail “their concerns about the reception they will be given near the stadium by security agents and law enforcement“. They still claim to fear “excess of zeal, even provocations initiated by the club“.

Their flags, drums and other tarpaulins would not be allowed in the stands by club management. This is the continuation of a conflict that has lasted for many months.

The mail was also forwarded to the LFP, the Professional Football League.

The kick-off, this Saturday evening: 7 p.m. at the Costières stadium.
