It was 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning when the floors of a three-storey house in the village of Cotignac, in the Var, collapsed. According to our information, this is a very old house unoccupied for ten years, whose owner is a Marseillais. The mayor of the town specifies that it was for sale and that work has recently taken place inside.
No victim
According to firefighters and the municipality, there was no one in the house at the time of the collapse. As a precaution, doubts are still being cleared with a canine team from the UIISC7 of Bignoles (Civil Security Training and Intervention Unit No. 7).
The area is sealed off. Five people who live near the building were evacuated and brought to safety. The exact cause of the collapse is not yet known.
