In a sports complex at the bottom of the building bars in Saint-Ouen, Eddy has a job interview to work in a sports store, on a plastic table set up for the occasion. When the recruiter asks him, CV in support, why she should hire him, the young man does not hesitate: “I’m sure I excel in this area! It’s something I enjoy.”
@Voxpopuli_Assos and @LesDetermines will introduce you to the opportunities linked to the Olympic Games.

Attracted to this job dating – that is to say a massive recruiting event concentrated on one day – by word of mouth, he knew nothing of the Olympic Games: learning that the event will create jobs reassures him for his future. “For the future, it gives me a lot of confidence and I find it very encouraging, that’s why I participated”he explains.
It is precisely for young Ile-de-France residents, like Eddy, that the “Shared Heritage” caravan, which brings together some thirty local associations, criss-crosses Seine-Saint-Denis so that they know that today 150,000 jobs related to the Olympics are already available in many sectors. “Security, safety, catering, services, shops, sales, reception of visitors as well as sports teams”lists Zeina Lis, from the Ifocop training center.
“We are supporting them today to meet these young people and see what suitable training is available that can help them find a job during the Olympic Games or during other events in Ile-de-France or even in their future projects. “

And on this point Slimane Tirera, from the Paris 2024 committee, insists: the Olympics should not be an end but a springboard for young people. “These are professions that will continue after 2024 because there will be other events thanks to the energy of the Gameshe develops. They start in a company more or less linked to the Games, and then they tell themselves that there is a career, and not a one-off event or a temporary job. They can start as a laborer and end up as a works foreman, or even an engineer for the bravest.”
The “Shared Heritage” caravan will also visit the rural territories of the regions where the Olympic Games events will be organised.
