Delphyne Viau, 10, from Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, suffers from epilepsy which results in periods of absence. Last week, she was the first pediatric patient in Canada to have brain electrodes implanted using a state-of-the-art surgical robot at the CHUL Mother-Child Center in Quebec City.

On Friday morning, the young girl had already had the electrodes that had been placed on her last Wednesday removed. “She told me that everything was fine, that she was looking forward to coming home [samedi]so that’s also very positive,” let his father Michel Viau know when reached by telephone by Le Nouvelliste.
