Their dog falls 50 m in a canyon in Savoie, the firefighters bring the animal back safe and sound

The mountain group of Savoie firefighters intervened this Monday at the end of the afternoon in the Bauges to save a dog that had fallen into a canyon.

Beautiful fright this Monday at the end of the afternoon for the owners of a dog who fell into a canyon in Savoie. Shortly after 5 p.m., the animal (a black crossabout 15 kilos) fell nearly 50 meters from the Devil’s Bridge, a stone bridge located in Bellecombe-en-Bauges, overlooking the canyon of the same name. “He fell from a small fence at deck level.”

Blocked between two walls

Despite its fall, the animal managed to swim and regain its footing on the branches, but it found itself stuck between two rock walls, inside these gorges known to be very narrow. It took the intervention of GMSP 73, the mountain group of firefighters, to recover the animal with a harness. The dog comes out safe and sound. The intervention ended in the early evening.
