A defender of the LGBTQ+ community for the PLQ in Louis-Hébert

The Liberal Party of Quebec is counting on an activist for the defense of rights and freedoms who is invested in the LGBTQ+ community in order to win back the riding of Louis-Hébert.

Dominique Anglade’s party is presenting its candidate Dominic Cardinal this morning in the hope of regaining the riding of Louis-Hébert in western Quebec City, which for a long time belonged to former Liberal minister Sam Hamad.

Since 2017, the riding has belonged to the Coalition Avenir Québec, won in a partial by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security Genviève Guilbault. She was easily re-elected in the 2018 election with 44.6% of the vote and more than 6,500 votes ahead of Liberal Julie-Maude Perron.

This year, the PLQ hopes that Dominic Cardinal, 36 years old and a graduate in business administration, will be able to turn the tide.

However, the challenge is likely to be great, while the projections place the PLQ good 3rd in the riding, behind the CAQ (46%) and the Conservatives (23%).

The Quebec 125 site, which compiles all the polling data in Quebec, indicates that the PLQ has collected a slim 12% for the moment in the county. This is a historic low.

Mr. Cardinal ran for Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures in the last municipal election. He was trying to run for councilor in the Du Lac district, but was defeated.
