The investigation is continuing. Three men aged 20 to 32, suspected of having participated in an attack “orchestrated” from the Vitry-sur-Seine police station (Val-de-Marne), were placed in police custody, the Créteil prosecutor’s office reported on Wednesday, August 17, requested by AFP. The police station had been targeted by mortars and Molotov cocktails on the night of July 31 to August 1. The incident then continued in the surrounding streets, giving rise to scenes comparable to a “real ambush”according to the Créteil prosecutor’s office.
The three men in police custody for aggravated violence were arrested on Tuesday morning. Objective elements suggest their participation in the facts, added the prosecution. Investigators from the territorial security of Val-de-Marne, in charge of the investigations, relied in particular on the analysis of telephones and social networks to find the perpetrators.
Exchanges of messages on several discussion groups on the Snapchat application have shown that “the attack on the police officers had been orchestrated by a group of individuals”, provides the floor. The analysis of the seals also made it possible to isolate DNA traces on a mortar and on a Molotov cocktail.
