The week has been more than agitated in the Val de l’Aurence district of Limoges, after firefighters and police officers were targeted by mortar fire and Molotov cocktails on Monday. This Friday, the national police announced that they had made four arrests, including two alleged perpetrators, who have since been brought to justice on Friday.
A hope of French basketball among the arrested
As indicated in the press release from the national police published on its Facebook account, “two brothers living in the Val de l’Aurence district” were arrested on the sidelines of this violence. Among them, there is “a 21-year-old young adult, hope of French basketball returning from the United States” which is not listed for other criminal or misdemeanor acts. The latter admitted to having thrown projectiles at the police. As for his brother, a 17-year-old minor, he admitted having attempted to destroy a surveillance camera with rocks. He is unknown to the police.
Two other arrests during checks
According to the press release from the national police, two other people were implicated by the police. Among them, a person in possession of narcotics and who was controlled and arrested by the staff of the CRS-8, this unit of forty men who arrived last Tuesday to secure the neighborhood. Another man riding a scooter was arrested after refusing to comply. He hit and injured a police officer from the Haute-Vienne anti-crime brigade.
