An explosion took place in a factory in Bergerac, Dordogne, Wednesday August 3. Fortunately, activity was slow in the hangar, which prevented a larger disaster.
On Wednesday August 3, an explosion sounded in a former Seveso high-threshold classified blowing snow, in Bergerac, in the Dordogne. “It was really a huge scare. When the explosion sounded, everyone thought of this factory”explains the journalist Florian Rouliès, live from Bergerac, in the 19/20 of France 3. “Luckily in misfortune, it is that activity was slow in the hangar which exploded. The whole site had been under maintenance for a few days”says the journalist.
“This explains in particular why there was only a ton of nitrocellulose in the hangar that exploded, and it also explains why there were few people on the site. It is this particular context that has avoided the worst. No employee lost their life during this accident”concludes Florian Rouliès.
