Two men shot dead in Montreal

(Montreal) Two men were murdered by projectiles from firearms during two shootings that occurred in just over an hour, Tuesday evening, in the north of Montreal.

Posted at 6:20 a.m.

Early Wednesday morning, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) still reported no arrests in connection with the two murders and no suspect description was available.

The police were first called to go around 9:45 p.m. to the intersection of boulevards Jules-Poitras and Deguire, in the borough of Saint-Laurent, near Roman-Zytynsky Park. They found a man on the ground who had already lost his life.

The same scenario repeated itself around 10:50 p.m., this time a few kilometers to the northeast, at the intersection of Sauvé Ouest and Meilleur streets, near Saint-Benoît park, in the Ahuntsic district.

Again, when they arrived, the police found a dead man.

The police believe that the two victims probably had to deal with only one protagonist. No witnesses had been met Wednesday morning.

The approximate ages of the two victims had not been disclosed.

Security perimeters have been erected on the two crime scenes and investigators must immediately undertake the examination of the scene.

With the addition of these two events, since the beginning of the year, 17 homicides have been committed on the territory patrolled by the SPVM.
