Monday 1er August, the 13 Hours newspaper talks about the price of infant products. These are on the increase in pharmacies, unlike supermarkets.
Infant products are experiencing a price increase in pharmacies, Monday 1er august. “Concretely, a milk that will be on average at 20 euros, it will go to between 22 and 24 euros“, notes Patrick Sitbon, pharmacist. Manufacturers announce new increases as of the start of the school year, indicating that the war in Ukraine has an impact on prices, in particular of raw materials and packaging.
In two years, the price of infant milk has increased from 11% to 33%. The price of diapers is also increasing, up to 91%. “If there is a big increase in prices in pharmacies and the prices remain the same in supermarkets, we could indeed change“, says a father. In supermarkets, these products are sold cheaper. “The major distributors do not want to lose the customers of these families (…) they are making efforts on this department, while on the others, there is inflation“, explains Olivier Dauvers, specialist in mass distribution.
