Quebec reports 13 new deaths linked to COVID-19

Quebec reports Thursday 13 new deaths linked to COVID-19, while the number of hospitalizations remained essentially the same.

There are currently 2,222 hospitalizations, including 763 due to COVID-19, one more than Wednesday. Sixty-nine people are in intensive care, including 35 due to COVID-19, an increase of four.

A total of 6,532 healthcare workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal and isolation.

The death toll now stands at 15,929.

The Ministry of Health reports 671 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,144,098 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 266,128 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 222,274 positives. For Wednesday, 433 tests were reported, including 369 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 14,533 analyzes were carried out for the day on Wednesday and that the positivity rate was 12.5%.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 56% received a third dose and 17% obtained a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 50% sought their fourth dose.
