COVID-19 report in Quebec July 27, 2022

Quebec reports Wednesday 25 new deaths linked to COVID-19 as well as an increase in hospitalizations.

There are currently 2,221 hospitalizations, including 753 due to COVID-19, an increase of 73 compared to Tuesday. Sixty-five people are in intensive care, including 35 due to COVID-19, an increase of four.

A total of 6,478 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll now stands at 15,916.

The Ministry of Health also reports 1,780 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,142,427 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 265,240 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 221,501 positives. For the day on Tuesday, 414 tests were declared, including 346 positive.

The Ministry of Health indicates that 13,243 analyzes were carried out on Tuesday and that the positivity rate is 13.5%.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 56% received a third dose and 17% obtained a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 50% sought a fourth dose.
